Designed as part of a multi-million dollar redevelopment of O'Callaghan Park, the clubhouse provides a suitable venue for the sporting complex and encourages an outdoor culture with the use of decks overlooking a child play area, putt-putt course and adjoining sporting fields.

The architectural theme is to reflect materials and features of the local building styles. Passive solar control will be achieved by insulating the roof and walls and the provision of wide verandahs to minimise heating and cooling requirement. A selection of recyclable materials and products were used where possible.

The design encourages cross ventilation, minimising the use of mechanical means of heating and cooling. Energy effecient lighting design was also a predominant feature.
